What Does a Session Look Like?

Before:

First off, we talk. We have a discussion - in person, over Zoom, or by email - about what you’re looking for in the final product. This is a good point to mention any specific outfits or props you want to use.

The location is up to you. I’ve done sessions in all kinds of places like studios, hotels, or even forests.

Make it a special day! Just before your session, get your hair and nails done at your favourite place. If you’re unable to do this, I will have a makeup artist at the studio for you. Remember, if you get it done ahead of time, that means more time taking amazing photos!

During:

The primary goal during your session is comfort, so bring a friend or a spouse. Bring someone with you that will help you be relaxed. This can be a really fun experience with friends! Tea and healthy snacks will be provided.

I will guide you through a variety of poses that are specifically chosen to be easy to hold. Not very flexible or athletic? That’s fine! Most people aren’t. The goal here is not to make you feel like you’re pushing yourself.

One of the best moments during a session is when you get a glimpse of some of the previews of the photos. It really makes a difference to know just how good you’re looking.

After:

After your session, I will get to editing the photos. To be clear: I will not be Photoshopping the images. I will only be doing basic colour grading. The whole purpose of Boudoir is to see yourself as your are, just with a professional touch.

Once the editing is done, I will have the best photos in the set printed into a luxurious black leather album. The pages of the album will be a special “lay-flat” style so that there’s no unfortunate folding getting in the way of seeing the amazing 2-page spreads. (This may take a few weeks, so please be patient!).

Finally, we’ll meet up one last time so I can give you the album in person. There’s really nothing quite like the first reactions to your photos.
